Kilambu feted with 'Harilal-Sri Lakshmi Memorial Journalism Award'

Bhaktapur, July 25: The 'Harilal-Sri Lakshmi Memorial Journalism Award' for this year has been conferred upon Narayan Sundar Kilambu, a journalist with Kantipur Television.     

The award was given to him in recognition of his significant contribution to the preservation of Bhaktapur's art, culture, and heritage, as well as his impact on the education sector in Nepal.     

The award, which includes a cash prize of Rs 10,000, was presented by Member of the House of Representatives, Madan Krishna Shrestha, during a ceremony marking the 5th annual general assembly of 'Newa Patrakar Rastriya Dabu'.     

The award was established by RSS photojournalist Ratna Krishna Shrestha to honour his parents and aims to acknowledge the vital role of journalism in promoting and safeguarding cultural practices and heritage.     

During the event, MP Shrestha emphasized the constitutional right to protect cultural customs and traditions in a democratic society.     

Feted journalist Kilambu shared that he was worked to highlight the cultural richness of Bhaktapur and surrounding areas through his two decades of work with the Kantipur Television.     

The ceremony also featured discussions on the contributions of the journalism sector in preserving local languages and cultures, with various notable figures from the community participating.(RSS)
