July 20: Thirty five pharmacies operating in the premises of the BP Koirala
Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) have been sealed off after finding during
the monitoring that the medicals were not following laws.
Bina Lal Shah, police
inspector at the area police office, Dharan, said a joint team comprised of
representatives from police administration, area administration office,
Department of Drug Management, Biratnagar and people's representatives from the
related wards had started monitoring in mid of July.
The pharmacies found run
improperly were sealed off today and the owners asked to visit their concerned authority
with documents.
Last month, twelve
people involved as medical middlemen were arrested from the BPKIHS premises.
