By Bishal Sunar, Dailekh, July 17: A paddy plantation festival is taking place along the banks
of the Bheri River, which flows as a boundary between Jajarkot and Rukum West
districts.
The significance of the rice-planting festival, where farmers plant a handful of seeds with the hope of harvesting many measures of grain, is unique.
The tributary streams and small streams of the Bheri River are very pleasant and fertile. Moreover, the enchanting voices of ploughmen, field workers, and rice planters have created a joyful atmosphere in the fields and farmlands at this time.
Currently, in Jajarkot alone, paddy cultivation is carried out on 3,063 hectares of land out of a total agricultural area of 42,573 hectares. In terms of rice production, the district produces around 166,567 metric tons of paddy.
