Juni Jala song from Pension Patta released

By Our Correspondent, Kaski, July 20: The original song ‘Juni Jala’ from the forthcoming Nepali film ‘Pension Patta,’ which is set for nationwide release on September 11, was unveiled at a special ceremony in Pokhara. 

The event, held at Midtown Cinemas, was attended by the film's production team, cast members, representatives of various Gurung community organisations, and members of the film industry.

The song features lyrics by Harka Saud and music composed by Manoj Thapa Magar. It is performed by Raj Bahadur Gurung, Sarun Gurung, Usha Gurung, and Priya Gurung.

 The music video showcases vibrant performances by the film's lead actors, including Dayahang Rai, Gaumaya Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Maya Gurung, Bishwas Gurung, and Pashupati Rai. 

Shot in the picturesque village of Tangting in Kaski district, the song's choreography has been directed by Kamal Gurung. The newly released track beautifully portrays the Gurung community’s rich cultural heritage, traditional attire, music, and lifestyle.

Writer and director Maotse Gurung said that although Pension Patta centres on the indigenous lifestyle, traditions, and social realities of the Gurung community, its story carries universal themes that audiences from all communities across Nepal will be able to relate to. 

He also voiced his belief that ‘Juni Jala’ would win the hearts of viewers and play a significant role in the film's success. With the release of the song, the production team plans to intensify its promotional campaign in the run-up to the film's release.

Producer Sapana Gurung said she decided to invest in the project after being deeply moved by its storyline.

 Director Maotse Gurung is currently travelling to different parts of the country to promote the film. 

The production team has announced that promotional activities will be further strengthened following the release of the song, expressing hope that Pension Patta will introduce the Gurung community's unique traditions and social realities to a wider audience through Nepali cinema.
